Creole Shrimp and Grits Recipe

When you think of classic southern recipes Creole Shrimp and Grits must come to mind. If you have never tasted this amazing dish, then I most certainly urge you to add this dish to your menu.  When deciding to add this recipe I was somewhat conflicted. Being an Athlete and now a High School Basketball Coach I strive to bring healthy meals to athletes all over the world.  But then I decided that everything is good in moderation. But I would not recommend eating this heavy dish before an event, it will most certainly give you the urge to take a nap. If you are in your off season or have time between your next event then have at it. This recipe from Smokin’ & Grillin’ wit AB is truly amazing ! He really does a great job of capturing the essence of southern cooking with this creole shrimp and grits recipe. We have listed the ingredients below.

If you would like to step this dish up a notch add some andouille sausage. If you like your grits creamy then add milk or half and half cream.   • Green Onion
  • Fresh Parsley
  • Thick Cut Apple-wood Bacon
  • 2 cups of Chicken Broth
  • 1 cup of grits
  • 3 Tbsp of Butter
  • ½ Tsp of Salt and Pepper
  • 2 Cups of Cheddar cheese
  • 2 Pounds of Jumbo Shrimp (Peeled)
  • Creole Season
  • 3 Tsp of Minced Garlic
  • 2 Tsp of Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 Tbsp of Lemon Juice
  • 1 Pound of Andouille Sausage
  • Half and Half or Milk if you want creamy grits
