Shrimp Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. extra-large shrimp – Make sure to peel and devein the shrimps. Remove their tails, too.
  • ¼ cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 2 cups of water
  • 5 sprigs each of fresh parsley and dill
  • 1 tsp. each of salt and whole black peppercorns
  • 1 tbsp. sugar

Salad Ingredients:

  • 1 minced celery stalk
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsps. minced shallot
  • 1 tsp. each of minced fresh dill and parsley
  • 1 tbsp. freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • Salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper

  1. Prepare a medium-sized saucepan. This is where you should combine cold water, shrimp, lemon juice, dill, parsley, salt, whole peppercorns, and sugar together. Once mixed, set the pan over medium heat and cook the mixture.
  2. Stir frequently while cooking for around eight to ten minutes or until the mixture becomes firm to touch and is pink.
  3. Take the saucepan out of the heat. Cover then set aside so the shrimp can sit in the broth for a while. This should take around two to five minutes.
  4. Prepare a medium-sized bowl then fill it up with ice water. After letting the shrimp set, drain it. Discard the spices and herbs as well as lemon halves if you are using any.
  5. Soak the shrimp right away into the bowl filled with ice water. Leave it for around 3 minutes in there to chill.
  6. Once done, take it out of the ice water. Use paper towels to pat them dry. Halve the shrimp lengthwise. After that, cut them into thirds.
  7. Prepare the salad. You can do that by whisking mayonnaise, shallot, celery, parsley, dill, and lemon juice in a medium-sized bowl first.
  8. Mix in the cooked shrimp. Toss well to combine all the ingredients well.
  9. Use the salt and pepper as seasonings. Mix well and serve.
